Where Audiense is stronger
- Depth on social data. 5.5 billion social media accounts. Followers, connections and communities are the core of the method, and they show social structure that interest data does not.
- Conversations and creators. Hashtags, keywords, sentiment, engagement and influencers, tracked as they happen. Rascasse measures interest, affinity and overlap, not what people say.
- Your own data in the mix. Web traffic, newsletter and CRM lists can be uploaded and analysed with the social data. Rascasse works without first-party data.
- Store-level location in the USA. Through Buxton: site selection, trade areas and 44 billion foot traffic data points for retail points of interest.
- E-commerce tracking. Through Elevar: conversion tracking for online shops, via a Shopify app or API. Rascasse does not offer this.
Where Rascasse is stronger
- Interest beyond following. Search, social, video, events, sponsorships and points of interest together. An audience is not limited to people who follow accounts or post.
- One method in 200+ countries. The same approach across 200+ countries, from country and regional level down to cities and, where available, postcodes. Audiense describes its location intelligence as covering the USA.
- Sponsorship partner search. Fit, overlap and impact, with 31,000+ sponsorship deals (18,000+ sponsors, 57 sports, 130 countries) as a filter. See sponsorship matching.
- Years of history. Up to ten years of history, 4 to 10+ years depending on the market, so a trend can be read against several seasons.
- Decks in your own template. We set up your PowerPoint master once; exports then arrive in your fonts and colours, with native, editable charts.
Following is one signal among several
Audiense starts from social accounts and the connections between them. That is a strong view of how an audience organises itself online: which communities it belongs to, whom it listens to, what it talks about. Rascasse starts from interest. Search, social, video, events, sponsorships and points of interest are combined into one profile, so people who rarely follow or post still count.
When to use both
The two fit together without much overlap. Audiense shows how an audience behaves on social platforms, which creators it follows and what it talks about. Rascasse shows where that audience is, which brands, clubs, artists and media it over-indexes on, and which partners fit it. A media or sponsorship brief built on both covers the social side and the market side of the same audience. See audience profiling.
Making the case to finance
Whichever provider you choose, the budget owner will ask what it costs, what it delivers and how to check it. With Rascasse the Annual fee per market or region is agreed upfront, own audiences come as credits (one credit is one audience in one country), and every result is a chart, a deck or an export that someone outside the analysis can check. Teams without their own analysts can buy the answer instead, as an Insights Report.
How to test it
The fair test is one real question, answered both ways. Pick a question you already answer with Audiense, for example which regions and cities your audience is strongest in outside the USA, or which sponsorship properties fit it. In a Proof Case we answer it for one market and up to three audiences in three weeks, at a fixed price, and present the result to the person who decides on the budget. You then put both answers next to each other and judge where the difference matters for your decision.
